Colyer-Fergusson becomes an Accredited Living Wage Employer

We’re delighted to announce that Colyer-Fergusson Charitable Trust has recently become accredited as a Living Wage Employer.  The Living Wage is an hourly rate of pay, independently calculated each year, based on the real cost of living in the UK and London and that is why it is higher than the minimum wage.

In becoming accredited, Colyer-Fergusson has voluntarily agreed to ensure that all employees and regular third party contracted staff are in receipt of The Living Wage (currently £10.85 per hour in London and £9.50 elsewhere in the UK).  We think it’s the right thing to do, as paying the Living Wage can have positive effects on staff wellbeing and team morale, increasing productivity, reducing absenteeism and improving recruitment and retention.

We will soon display the Living Wage logo on our website and the next step will be for the trust to investigate becoming a Living Wage Funder.  This would mean that we would work towards ensuring that all posts we fund are funded at the Living Wage where possible.  We’d like to hear your opinions on this so look out for a short poll we’ll be putting up on the platform in the near future.
